About Us

Corin Comisky graduated in 2000, from the University of Guelph with a Bachelor of Commerce degree, specializing in Marketing. With the dream of becoming an advertising genius, she moved to Toronto where she worked at an advertising agency creating in-store promotions for big companies, such as Kellogg’s, TELUS Mobility and Kraft & Nabisco. Corin soon realized (after living in a 400 square foot basement apartment for 3 years) that she wasn’t cut out for big city life ….

Corin moved back to beautiful downtown Guelph, (to a much bigger apartment!), and dabbled in some Event Coordinating work. She was working 60-70 hours a week, including most weekends. She realized that if she was going to work that hard – why do it for someone else?! That’s when she knew she really and truly wanted to work for herself!

But being a small business owner was not a new concept for her....her parents and grandparents owned and operated several small businesses

Corin loves to travel, and over the years it has become her passion to always find one or two unique pieces of jewellery to bring home to add to her collection. What started out as a small hobby – has now blossomed into a full-fledged career!

Combining her love of jewellery and her desire to work for herself, Corin opened Pretty Chic Boutique in Jaunary 2007!

But she didn’t do it alone! This is definitely a family business…. Her Dad, Steve Comisky is her business partner, and mentor.
Her Mom, Judy, and her two older sisters, Krista and Shona, work at the store from time to time, to give her a break and the chance to refresh her creative juices!
And her little brother Stevie, has recently created an in-house brand of jewellery: Saucy! Designs.
